Twitter User @x LOSES Handle After Twitter Rename; Offered Tour and Merchandise as Compensation

Gene X Hwang, known as @x on Twitter since 2007, knew his username’s days were numbered after Elon Musk’s recent renaming of the platform to “X.” Upon landing from a pinball tournament in Canada, Hwang found messages notifying him that the company had taken over his handle.

Twitter explained that Hwang’s account data would be preserved and that he would receive a new username. The company offered Hwang merchandise, a tour of its offices, and a meeting with management as compensation.

The change in his account is one of the latest disruptions since Musk’s takeover and the replacement of Twitter’s blue bird logo with the letter “X.”

LAHAINA’S Heartbreak: RESIDENTS Face Scorched Homes After Devastating Hawaiian Wildfire

Lahaina locals, victims of the recent destructive wildfire in Hawaii, began their somber journey back to their incinerated homes this Monday. Darryl Oliveira, the acting head of Maui’s Emergency Management Agency, reported widespread shock at the scale of devastation.

The area has been a no-go zone since the August 8 firestorm. Only authorized personnel were granted access until now. A small section was opened for supervised visits from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and by noon around two dozen vehicles carrying residents had entered.

The homecoming sparked a wave of intense emotions among those who escaped as wind-fueled flames swallowed Lahaina, once the capital of Hawaii’s kingdom. The wildfire took at least 97 lives and razed over 2,000 buildings to the ground.

Residents were cautioned against rummaging through ashes due to potential toxic dust hazards. Jes Claydon caught sight of her destroyed rental home from a National Guard blockade near the burn area. She held out hope for recovering jars filled with sea glass and other keepsakes from amidst the ruins.
